Pirates of the Burning Sea Interview

At Comiccon 2007, Flying Lab Software introduced a soon-to-be-released MMO called Pirates of the Burning Sea (www.burningsea.com). I was lucky enough to interview Jess Lebow, the Content Manager. I had to say that considering there is a background noise of approximately 40,000 attendees I am really happy with how the sound came out.

I love the idea of an MMO that is influence by actual history. Perhaps, as the game grows, elder-gamers may run into some of the more infamous Pirates on the seas... can you imagine trying to take down Blackbeard or the French Navy for that matter!? I tell you what, first chance I get, I think I would take over Jamaica, perhaps Cuba and control the cigar economy!

What always truly amazes me about the Comiccon is that I can go, as a regular-joe, meet my favorite artists and writers and somehow they are just as grateful to have a fan talk to them. This interview is the perfect example. As I finished, we exchange handshakes and thanks, then Flying Labs gives me their card to let them know when I have posted the interview so they can point existing fans towards it. I know, it is good for them but really, an honor for me as well.

That said, I hope I made Flying Labs proud with it. Think of me if you ever come out with a shirt that says "Johnny Depp Can Walk the Plank!"
